The 2014 Xenia Community Festival Marks a Return to Origins in Xenia’s Shawnee Park


The Xenia Community Festival Committee is proud to announce a new–but old–location for the Xenia Community Festival this September 19 and 20–Shawnee Park.

The Festival will retain its Title Sponsor, Greene Memorial Hospital, and will feature Joe Mullins and the Radio Ramblers as the headline entertainment on Saturday night, September 20. The Balloon Glow is planned for Friday night.

Kroger Clears Out Furniture for Clothing


The Beavercreek Kroger store has cleared all the furniture out of their furniture area to make way for a new area featuring clothing. The furniture lines the aisles and in front of the registers and features deals as much as 50% off. Earlier this year Kroger announced they were experimenting with clothing. The Beavercreek store is one of the first to adopt the new line of clothing.

NEC Building Construction Progressing at WSU


Construction is progressing on the new NEC Research Laboratory building at Wright State University. The building is intended to to add capacity, effectiveness and promote collaboration between present neuroscience and engineering research. The project was started August 1, 2012 with a planned completion date of June 1, 2015. The architect is Perkins + Will. The contractor is Messer Construction Co.

Beavercreek Gets It’s Own Apple Store

Beavercreek recently got it’s own Apple Store, located in the Greene Towne Center Shopping and Residential complex. The choice of Beavercreek for Dayton’s only Apple Store says a lot about the community and it’s continued success in drawing new business. The Apple store is located at 422 Cedar Park Drive, Beavercreek, OH 45440. Phone number (937) 431-4200. Store hours are Mon-Sat: 10 am – 9 pm, Sunday Noon – 6:00 pm.

New Starbucks Coming to WSU Library


Wright State’s Paul Laurence Dunbar Library is about to get it’s own Starbucks. The coffee shop in a book store is not a new idea, and a Starbucks in a university library is not as new an idea as you might think. Over the years Starbucks has been locating in university libraries across the country. Locally the University of Miami and Sinclair already have their own Starbucks. The Starbucks should be open and ready for students when they return in fall.

New Speedway Nearing Completion

The new Speedway on the corner of Fairfield and Kemp in Beavercreek, Ohio is nearing completion. THe expansion of the familiar fixture in Beavercreek was announced earlier this year. In the early months of spring the old Speedway was demolished making way for a brand new Speedway with twice as many pumps and a much larger store.

Spinoza’s Hosting Animal Shelter Benefit June 20


Spinoza’s in the Mall at Fairfield Commons will be the scene of a benefit for the Greene County Animal Shelter this Thursday, June 20th. The benefit is themed around a Beatles and Beer Tribute. Soin Medical Center Holding Free Concert


The Soin Medical Center in Beavercreek is presenting a free concert on June 23 at 5:30 pm featuring Adelee & Gentry and the Dayton Philharmonic. The concert, titled Enjoy the Sounds of Summer, is being held in conjunction with the Soin Medical Center’s one year anniversary.
